Let me start by saying that what I am about to share has nothing to do with my ability whatsoever. The Lord Jesus did it. And all the glory belongs to Him and to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and on earth is named.

So, let’s go. January 25, 2022, was my birthday. But this one was different—I had never experienced anything like it before. The wishes and prayers from family and friends poured in abundantly. My heartfelt appreciation to all. The icing on the cake? My visit to an orphanage, as is my custom.

This particular orphanage—one I had never visited before—is located on the outskirts of the city where I live, about a 40-minute drive from my home. Outskirts? Yes. A few weeks earlier, I sensed in my spirit that the Lord wanted me to go to a location on the outskirts. So, off we went.

At the orphanage, the serenity was welcoming. But there were no children to greet us—they had all gone to school. It seemed like I wouldn’t be staying long. Well… or so I thought. We offloaded the gifts, and somehow, I found myself engaged in a conversation with the sister who received us. She began briefing us, and that was when things took an unexpected turn.

“All the children have gone to school,” she began. “They are usually free on weekends.”

“Okay,” I replied.

“Here, we manage orphans, the mentally ill, the homeless…” she continued.

“I beg your pardon! The mentally ill? In an orphanage? That’s new.” I interjected.

“Can we see them?” I suddenly asked, without thinking twice about it. Where did that come from? What was I going to do with them? Why did I even want to see them?

Well, there was this unusual boldness within me. I thought to myself, “Well, if we can’t pray with the children, we’ll pray with the mentally ill ones. We can’t just drop gifts and leave. Noooo! That would be incomplete.”

They brought them out—men, women, even a young boy. The sight of them made me sad and sober. They were completely out of their minds.

Let me tell you—until you’ve seen it firsthand, you have no idea what it truly means when someone says, “he or she is out of their mind.” Just visit a mental home, and you’ll grasp the picture immediately.

Seeing them, I said in my heart, “Lord, I have never done this before. Never! What do I do now? Where do I start? I know You said in Your name, I shall cast out demons. Lay hands on the sick and they shall recover in Mark 16: 17 -18. I’m going to do so according to Your words.” While thinking on that and beholding their sight before me, they were gathered into a small hall.

They were all staring aimlessly. I had no idea what was going on in their minds. I walked into the hall—talking as slowly as I could about Jesus. I wasn’t even sure they understood a word I was saying.

Well, I was already by the river. On fire! No going back. The tangible presence of the Holy Spirit manifested. It was time to pray for them. Oh Lord! One by one, we prayed for them. Laid hands on them. Exercising authority according to the Word. Listening and yielding to the Holy Spirit. And then—the Lord showed up!

One lady, who had no mind of her own, suddenly jumped to her feet and ran towards me. By the word of knowledge, the Lord said, “She is ready by faith.” Really? But she’s insane! Still, I yielded. I held her hands in a prayer of agreement. Strange! But as we prayed, she was responding. Suddenly, the power of God flowed into her. She was healed.

Many others also received the touch of God. I remember one particular lady among them—there was a word of knowledge about her, and she smiled, even in her insane state. After much persuasion in the Holy Ghost, she decided to remain calm and, somehow, yielded her mind. It was a window of opportunity. I perceived that she had opened her spirit to receive, and the Lord said, “Her mind is open. Lead her to Me.”

I did. After her confession, we began to pray for her. Then, suddenly, many strange spirits began screaming as they left her body. And the power of the Lord Jesus drove them out.

Well, it goes without saying that I received large doses of saliva spat on my face—twice—by one under palsy. It’s okay!

There were three of them who vehemently refused to even mention the name of Jesus. But eventually, they yielded—calmly and soberly—to His name. And the Lord spoke to my spirit, saying, “They are ready. Lead them to Me.” I did. Their countenance changed, and healing was ministered to them. They opened their eyes, calm and radiant (this is what people told me afterward). They walked off, looking at themselves as though something had happened to them. Well, yes—something had happened to them. It was the Lord.

It felt as though He—the invisible Lord—moved among them, touching them as I laid hands on them. The atmosphere was charged—like fire.

One middle-aged man was restored instantly to his senses. He accepted the life of Jesus. The next words that came out of his mouth were, “When am I leaving here? What am I even doing here? What’s the next thing I need to do?” Whoa! I was stunned. I explained to him that the Lord had begun a good work in him. First, he needed to understand what the Lord had just done for him and how to stay healed—how to study the Word and confess it daily. That conversation lasted another 30 to 40 minutes. I later handed him two books: The New Birth and In Him by Brother Kenneth E. Hagin. Glory to God! Surely, there will be follow-up.

I love the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. I love the Father. And I love the Master. Their thoughts and the wonder of Their hands amaze me. I simply desire to please Them. I want to be in Them, and Them in me, at all times. And I know that His glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.

I want to thank everyone who sent their birthday wishes and prayers. The Lord was glorified through the orphanage visit. My faith in the Lord Jesus was strengthened. And He alone deserves all the glory—for the diverse healings, the restoration of minds, and the salvation of souls.

I give all glory to the Lord.

You also reading this can do same for the Lord. Yes, you can! You never know until you step out. I did and I saw the power of the One that is in me far greater than all the devils inhabiting many of them. Three restored mentally and gave their lives to Christ. Some healed and we believe God to complete the restoration of the rest.

You also can do it. While you do that day job, you can do some work for the Lord to glorify His name. Hallelujah!

Perhaps, you have not made a decision to make Jesus your Lord and Savior. Here is an opportunity to do so. He came because of you. He died for your sin and mine. You can accept Him into your life with a simple prayer. Just believe in your heart and you will see the glory of God:

Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins. I know my good works cannot save me. But You came to the earth, lived and died and resurrected after paying for the sins of mankind. You paid for the wages of my sins with your blood so that I can be united to my Maker. I believe in my heart that you did all this for me also. I accept you from today as my Lord and Savior. Come and dwell in my heart and make me a new person from today till I meet with You. Thank you Father for accepting me as Your child from today. I ask all these in Jesus name. Amen!

  1. Glory be to God for His faithfulness to those who trust in Him.
Jesus called His disciples and gave them the power to preach and do miracles. If you have not been discipled and continue growing in Christ, He can’t empower you to do any miracle.

    1. Mark 16: 17-18 says “And these signs shall follow them THAT BELIEVE; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Those that believe. Anyone that believes can do the miracles.

  2. God works in marvelous ways. He gives us gifts to help people. Since the mentally ill could get saved and restored then we as Christians should do it. We have Christ in us to show us and lead the way.

  4. Amazingly!!!
    Jesus is forever Lord!!
I thank God for the great work of restoring minds and saving their souls.
If you have never been a care giver or directly related to such, you may not appreciate fully what God did through our brother.
I have been there, God bless you and your descendants for your obedience to visit such homes.

We stigmatize mental health patients as though some sicknesses are of more value than others, but not all are the works of the enemy.
God bless you as you follow up sir.
I’m encouraged to be gentle and bold at the same time to step out in faith.
