Are you intentional about seeking Him? Are you intentional in talking to Him in your heart?

What do you do when that sleep drains from your eyes at night or early in the morning? Do you turn on your phone to catch up on those new message alerts? David said in Psalms 63:1, “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You…” Do you seek Him early in the morning? Or do you seek other things like social media notifications and unread messages?
Researchers like Du et al. (2019) have discovered that numerous unread notifications, immediate gratifications, and habitual checking get you hooked to social media, leading to “social media self-control failure (SMSCF).” When you see those unread notifications, you feel like you are in a room littered with debris and want to get rid of them before you do any other things. You plunge into it and continue – without knowing an hour is gone. The self-gratification, the amusement, the curiosity – all of those emotions begin to appear and disappear on your face as you let your mind and soul into the virtual world where you become captive and addicted to the encrypted coded intentions of the owners of the social media platforms. The media lures us to come! Its invisible algorithm calls your names so loud that you often answer the calls.

But there is a Greater One who is calling you, too—the One who created you and made you alive. Where was social media in the conception and birth of you from nothing into someone?
The One who made you is also waiting for you early in the morning. David said in Psalms 63:1, “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You…”
Do you seek Him, or is something else seeking you?
The Lord is waiting for you early every morning, but you are busy pouring yourself over that which profits little (if at all). But you ignore what profits much spiritually and causes the physical to yield to you. He has been calling for you to come to His plan and purposes for you, but you desire to go your own ways. Is He the One leading you or showing Himself amid your endeavor? Or is the allure or lust of things driving your goals and ambitions in life?
The Godhead is in you! Don’t shortchange yourself.
The Mighty One in you waits for you to seek first the things from above. He is gentle. He will not force you. Neither will He condemn you because He is love. He will not force Himself on you. It is up to you.

Our Lord Jesus exemplified this while He was here on earth. Mark 1:35-36. “Very early the next morning before daylight, Jesus got up and went to a place where he could be alone and pray. Simon and the others started looking for him.”
Your own Simon and others are now social media notifications, looking for you as soon as you wake up. The cares of this world choke the desire to seek Him from your spirit. The Lord is willing to help you. Only if you will desire Him.
The secret place. The Me-time with God: the sacred time I spend with God, a time shared by none but Him and me. The time I set aside to seek my Maker all the days of my life. Let Him be as real to you as the skin on your body. Make Him real in your life.
Psalm 27:8 AMPC, “When You said, “Seek My face in prayer, require My presence as your greatest need,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Lord, I will seek on the authority of Your word.”
Did you read that underlined words? The Father God yearns for you to seek His face in prayer. He desires for you to crave His presence as your greatest need. Like David, will you also say to Him “Your face, O Lord, will I seek on the authority of Your word”?

The end of the matter
Seek Him in prayers. Seek Him in His written words. Pour yourself over His promises. Pour out yourself before Him in worship. Sing a new song unto Him in the spirit. Let your worship delight Him. Bring before Him a sweet aroma of your spirit in worship, silence, awe, adoration, spiritual songs, and praises. Whatever it is, do it for the King of kings.
He is waiting for you in His secret place. Yield to Him, and you will experience the Ancient Days. It is a journey. Don’t stop. Don’t plateau. His Spirit is our Helper! Heaven is here! When the Holy Spirit descended like a mighty torrent blast on that day of Pentecost, the earth never remained the same. Heaven is here.
