The city was a cold, wet canvas painted with shades of despair that October. As I navigated its concrete jungle, seeking shelter from the downpour, I was confronted with the stark reality of human suffering. The homeless, their lives reduced to mere survival, were haunting reminders of a world gone awry.
The COVID pandemic had cast a long, ominous shadow, and its chilling grip was evident in the eyes of those who had lost everything. Their plight ignited a fire within me, a burning question about the nature of humanity and its capacity for both immense cruelty and profound compassion.

I retreated to the quietude of my own space, wrestling with existential questions. Why so many wars and destruction all over the world? Where does life lead? What lies beyond the horizon of mortality? These inquiries were as old as time itself, yet they felt more pressing than ev

Last Breath
Then came a moment of profound clarity. A visit to a dying wealthy old man, his spirit teetering on the precipice of eternity, revealed the fragility of life and the power of hope. There was a sense of foreboding in the air. It was dark, with chilly death omens lurking around. We found strength in the Word of God.

We started praying, thanking God for his healing. Thanking God for a wonderful life. How did we start praying like that? I noticed a sudden warmth throughout the room, and the supposedly motionless man began to twist on the bed. I’m not suggesting he was resurrected then. No, he wasn’t gone. Something was happening to him.
He began to toss and flip on his bed. Your guess is as good as mine – we sensed God’s power stirring him up. I sensed the old man had only a short time left on this planet. I was saddened because this was a man of renown who had accomplished so much in life and received so many awards, yet gripped by death and now slowly slipping into the other realm.
Inside, I grew depressed. My heart speaks louder than my mouth. I said to myself, “Lord, What do we do for him?” I felt impatient with the passing of time and suggested to my friend that we tell him about Jesus.
We came closer to his bedside and began to declare the Word of God to him, proclaiming Jesus and His words. And the old man started saying what we were saying. With the strength building on him, he muttered the words loudly enough. The icy, awful omen faded away gradually. He warmed up and his face brightened up.
We could see relief on his face. As we left him with a warm smile, I had no doubt in my mind that he was healed. He expressed his gratitude to us. That night, I sensed he received Jesus into his heart.

A few days later, the pastor called to inform us that Papa had died. I was astounded! Sad! I withdrew into a quiet room and meditated about all that had transpired the night we were with Papa. I reflected on the entire scene, Was that why his daughter asked for prayers? Was it his last chance to make amends with his Creator? Was that a triumphant exit? That day, did he accept Jesus as his Lord and Saviour? Did he really mean what he said?
There was an assurance that dropped in my heart that he confessed Jesus as his Lord and Saviour for the scripture says in 1 Corinthians 12:3 (NLT) “no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.”
I clung to the happy hope that he reconciled with His Creator and embraced Jesus as his Lord and Saviour before death took him away. I couldn’t question God why he hadn’t been cured, but I was enraged at the man’s helplessness in the grasp of death.
I know that we will all return to the One Deity who is not only holy but also righteous. Too holy to behold sins, otherwise, He would be like us. His Eyes are too holy to behold iniquities. But why is mankind not rushing to that God? What made mankind to stray away from Him, making comeback difficult for many?
I Want Him Now
Friends, your Maker does not want you to be cast into the lake of fire. He wants you to make a decision not to go there. Don’t go there! It is not meant for you. God has made provision for your sins – past, present and future. First, you need to know that He came, lived, died and rose from death after paying the ultimate price for all mankind’s sins. He paid it all. Salvation is now free, but you must act. If you do not acknowledge that He did it and accept Him as your Saviour, you cannot escape the consequences of sins, nor access the benefits of salvation. If you reject him as your Savior, you will meet Him afterlife as a Judge of all you did on earth. Don’t procrastinate. Accept Him willingly into your heart through a solemn confession of Him as Lord and Saviour over your life henceforth. He will not force you. Now if you “feel” in your heart like “I want Jesus.”
If your heart is nudging you, “I’m sorrowful for all that I have done. I want to come back to God.” You are almost there. Don’t listen to that voice telling you It is not true. Remember, He came for you. He died for you. He suffered for you. He conquered for you. He rose for you. He is with God now for you. There is no other way by which a man or woman can be saved from eternal judgment except through Jesus. Except through accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. You cannot save yourself. No, you cannot! Your good works cannot either. In eternity, if you stand before Him proclaiming your good deeds as a strong reason to be saved and gained eternal rest, your heart will tell you, You are still a sinner before Him. Now is the day that you can sincerely and boldly in the privacy of your room or wherever you are, come to Him now and accept Him.

BELIEVE AND CONFESS
You only need to believe all you have been reading and confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour. I believe you are ready. Read aloud to yourself the sentence below and believe it in your heart. Because God says, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10.
Lord Jesus, I believe in my heart all You did for me. I believe that You came in the flesh, lived, and died for my sins. You blotted out my sins with Your blood. You rose and forever living at the right hand of the Father in heaven. Thank You for doing all this for me. Thank You for forgiving me of all my sins. You are now my Lord and my Savior. Thank you, Father. I am born again. And from this day, my life is now lived according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
That is it! You will know deep inside you that you now have peace with God. You are now born again. It is supernatural. With your confession and faith in God, He has deposited His Holy Spirit in you. You are now in the Kingdom of God. No more with Satan. Glory be to God!
The Bible says in Colossians 1:13 (NLT) that,
“For He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son”
Glory be to God! You are no longer in the kingdom of Satan! You are no longer a child of Satan. You are now supernaturally in the Kingdom of Jesus. Just like that?Yes! Just like that.
You no longer have the generational curses! You are free from curses because Galatians 3:13 says,
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.”
The “us” in that scripture now includes you! Do you know what else happened to you since you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour? You were raised from death!
ALIVE UNTO GOD
You are now dead to sin and awake unto righteousness. Alive unto God! Alive to righteousness. Alive to virtue! Alive to the fruit of the spirit.
You can now scream, The Godhead dwells in me! Oh Lord, bring it all over me! Fill me everyday with Your fullness! Fill me till eternity. To be lost in You, my Maker, my Master, my Saviour! Oh, eternity! The fullness of God. The limitless, immeasurable, and surpassing presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The fullness of God dwells in you and I. Oh, I desire His fullness. Nothing but the fullness. Get me drunk with Your Holy Spirit till I thirst no more, floating under Your glory; under the power of the ages to come; the awesome brightness of Your glory. Your majesty! Your pleasure! Let it prosper in my hands to the glory of Your Name. Your Majesty on high. My Father!!! I want nothing but Your fullness!
That should be your hunger daily towards Him. You must want it. Oh! Don’t settle for less. There’s more in Him. The fullness of God manifests the manifold nature of the Eternal Being, the Father of our Lord Jesus!
I’m already talking about what to expect in Him. But,I don’t want to jump ahead of you. As a new creation in God, we must continue in good works. We all are new creation, irrespective of how long we have been in Christ Jesus. You never outgrow the new creation status. There is nothing like an older new creation. Stop it! Don’t you think you have outgrown that new creation status, except you have denied Christ.
Next Steps
We are a new creation in Christ Jesus. Old sinful lifestyle must go. We must allow the life of Christ to show forth in us. Don’t hide Jesus in your life. Don’t hide Him in front of your friends, families and acquaintances. Talk about Him. Don’t be afraid they will judge or mock you. You are on a journey into God – nobody ever arrives while on this earth. It is a step by step walk with Him.

Keep walking towards the high calling of God in your life. You are a child of God, now in the Kingdom of God. You are not a child of the devil. You are in Christ and all things are new to you. It is the beginning of a new chapter. You are now righteous in God. You are no longer a sinner by nature. Nor a slave to sin. You are a child of God.
WHAT YOU MUST DO CONSTANTLY
Please find a Bible-believing church and go there. Pray in your heart that God directs you to one and when you get there, tell them you just accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour and you will like to go through a new believer foundation class to learn more about Jesus and your rights as a child of God.
“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (New Living Translation).
For you who has been on this journey for a while, continue in the fellowship of the brethren. You can never outgrow fellowship. God’s words encourage us in Hebrews 10:25 (NKJV):
“not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Secondly, as a new believer, you need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. Because you need the power of the Holy Spirit to be in you so that you can stand against Satan and his cohorts with the authority and power of Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus said so in Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” Don’t let the devil or any man tells you it is in the past. No way! It hasn’t! It is the trick of the enemy to cheat you of your inheritance.

Don’t you believe his lies anymore. Don’t you let him make you believe any lies. You tell him to his face as in Colossians 1:13 that says “God has rescued you from the kingdom of darkness and transferred you into the Kingdom of His dear Son.” Replace the “you” with your name. Bring it home to yourself. Read the scripture again with your name in it.
Let me give you another one in Ephesians 2:1 to 10 (NKJV) that says:
“1And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.4 BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Think about that always. That is the truth. Believe it. Because you are alive to God, it becomes challenging to follow the trends of this world; you now have the ability to oppose the devil’s influence that tempts people to do evil; and you mortify the evil deeds of the flesh.
For you who have been previously born again, the above scripture is also for you and I. Continue to walk in the paths of the Lord. You are His workmanship. Verse ten of the above scripture says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” That “we” now includes you. From now on, the work you do will be that good works which God prepared beforehand for you to work in them. Period! No more wasteful lifestyle like the prodigal son. You are back on track! You are now back to your Maker, God the Father! Glory be to God!!
I’m going to include some more passages about your heritage as a child of God:
- Anyone who believes Him is redeemed from the curse of the law.Galatians 3:13.
- At the name of Jesus every knee must bow in heaven, on earth and in hell, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of the Father.Philippians 2:9. Jesus said in John 14:14, “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”. He said so. Start addressing your prayer requests to Him in His name.
- Whoever shall call on the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved.Romans 10:13. You have called on His name and you are now saved. Glory be to God!
- He was wounded for our transgression and bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was laid on Him.Isaiah 53:5. You are no longer to carry the consciousness of sin in your heart. If devil or anyone or even your mind tells you otherwise, scream this scripture loud, He was wounded for my transgression and bruised for my iniquities. I have peace because of Him! Continue to remind yourself of this.
- There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Him.Romans 8:1. When the enemy tries to remind you of your past sinful life, shout him down and declare boldly, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, I’m in Christ Jesus now. I am no longer under condemnation. Christ has paid the price for my sins. I’m redeemed with the precious blood of Jesus.
- Whosoever believes in Him is now henceforth raised with Him.Ephesians 2:6. Glory be to God! I’m raised with Christ. I’m seated with Him spiritually.
- For humanity’s sake, sin was laid on Him that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ.2 Corinthians 5:21. Yes! Always say it to yourself, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am not a sinner. I’m a child of God. I’m righteous because God made me so.
- By His stripes we were healed.1 Peter 2:24. Oh my, oh my! When the devil sends indications of sickness close to you, or your mind is playing tricks on you, or you are beginning to sense symptoms of sickness, you can declare boldly, By Jesus stripes on the cross I was healed. I was healed by Him over two thousand years again. Since His word says I was healed, so I am healed and I remain healed. Sickness, I command you to go out of my body in the name of Jesus. Say it and don’t doubt. It is what the Lord Jesus has done for you and I. Affirm it.
Before I round up this chapter, let me share with you one of the spiritual weapons (in addition to God’s words) that the Lord Jesus gave us before He left the earth.
That is His Name
He said in Mark 16: 17 – 18, “And these signs will follow those who believe: IN MY NAME they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
In John 14:13 – 14, Jesus said “And whatever you ask IN MY NAME, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything IN MY NAME, I will do it.”
Apostle Paul brought another revelation of the name to us by the Holy Spirit in Philippians 2:9 – 11:
“9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Did you read that? Therefore, the name of Jesus is for believers to ask the Father anything in Jesus name. We are to use the name of Jesus to:
- Cast out demons
- Speak in new tongues
- Lay hands on the sick and they recover
- Tread upon demonic powers
- Place a demand on Jesus to do something for you
Step out in faith and take authority in the name of Jesus to do all of the above.
In conclusion, whether you are a new believer or have been in Christ for a while, there is a good practice that we can adopt or continue in:
- Through the Holy Spirit, draw closer to Jesus. Always ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus and the Father to you.
- Spend time to study the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the Father to you in the words. Get a yearly reading plan and follow it through. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand. Let me tell you something: reading the Bible daily is like taking a supplement tablet. God’s words are medicine to our spirit and soul. Proverbs 4:20 -23 says, “My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, And healing and health to all their flesh. Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.” Take it daily. If you don’t want to complete the entire yearly reading plan, begin with the New Testament. Simply reading will help you develop God consciousness. In no time, you will begin to sense the presence of the Holy Spirit in you. There is an endless experience on that journey. Start today.
- Pray constantly in tongues to edify yourself (1 Corinthians 14:4); to speak mystery to God directly (1 Corinthians 14:2); to pray the accurate will of God into your life and others (Romans 8:26), and so on.
- Associate with believers who are passionate about God, but also balanced in their walk with Him.Proverbs 13:20 says, “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” You won’t suffer harm in Jesus name. But choose wisely who you make your friends.
- Ensure to read and listen to a lot of anointed Christian materials. 2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT) says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
- Be willing to let the Holy Spirit lead you. Romans 8:14. Reading God’s words will show you the will of God. Praying in tongues to seek direction will allow your spirit to commune with the Holy Spirit concerning a matter. Be open to His leading.
- Don’t give God a recess of your time. Dedicate yourself to Him. Seek Him at all times, and you will find Him.
Let me tell you a little secret that will help you study the Word of God: whenever you read books like this with a lot of scripture cited, make sure you open your Bible and read each text. You are putting God’s word into your mind and spirit by doing so. Don’t get too comfortable reading it from the book without opening your Bible. Take notes on what the Holy Spirit reveals to you in your spirit. That is one method of increasing one’s knowledge of God. That also makes you to grow in grace: 2 Peter 1:2 says so, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord…”
I genuinely believe that reading this book has blessed you. We give God all the glory for His words that never fall to the earth. He always keeps an eye on His words to ensure that they do what they are supposed to do. Because you are the product of that Word, your future is assured. You shall progress from grace to grace, strength to strength. You will triumph in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen!
Stay blessed. Jesus is Lord!
