Have you ever grappled with the enigmatic statement of Jesus: ‘He who has seen Me has seen the Father’? While Moses declared no one could see God and live, Jesus seemed to offer a different possibility. What did He mean? Let’s delve into the fascinating exchange between God and Moses on Mount Sinai
”But God said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”“ Exodus 33:20-23 NKJV.

But Jesus said to Philip, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.“ John 14:9-11 NKJV
What prompted Jesus’ bold declaration, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father”? This statement stands in stark contrast to Moses’ earlier assertion that no human could see God and live. What shifted between their times? What enabled Jesus to offer this unprecedented possibility? Did a change in “the design of heavens” occur, or was it something more profound? Let’s unpack it.
First of all, it’s worth noting that the sin of mankind caused the Father to make Jesus, the Word, became flesh and dwelt amongst us. He was with the Father from the beginning. He left His glory in heaven and took on the nature of man for you and I.
Oh what a sacrifice! He shed His divinity for a while and agreed to become human! By taking on human limitations, Jesus lived, died, and rose again, offering hope and redemption to humanity. He became the first resurrected human being, with glorified flesh and bone, who ascended to heaven and forever seated at the right hand of the Father.

When He resurrected and appeared to His disciples, Thomas doubted it. He told Thomas, ”Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”“ Luke 24:39 NKJV
Jesus’ eternal sacrifice of becoming flesh and bone, dying, resurrecting, and ascending to heaven at the Father’s right hand enabled us to see the Father in the spirit. No man had ever witnessed the Father. Not even by the Old Testament prophets. But Jesus has made it possible for us. Through Jesus, we can now raise our spiritual eyes to see Him and the Father in the heavenly place. Better put, we can now see the Father because we are in Christ in the heavenly place with him. The Lord Jesus granted us access to the Father.
He revealed the Father to us. He made Him known to us. By His sacrifice we can enter into the holiest of all in heaven and behold the similitude of the Father on the throne.
Oh the Father is meek! He humbled Himself so that we can come close to Him. He clothes Himself with mercies so that we can approach Him. He beckons to us to come to Him.
He invites us to come to Him through His Son, even though we are laboring and heavy laden. He is a merciful Father. He is filled with compassion. The Lord pities us in the same way that a father does with his children. To do us good. He is magnificent in mercies. His bowel is filled with compassion. The Lord is His name. He is kind and gracious. Always showing mercy to those who call on Him.
He walked the earth through His Son. He felt the same way we do. He has gone through what we are going through. He had the same encounter, but never fell or sinned. He felt the earth. He understood what it meant to live on the earth. He felt the harshness, the hatred of satanic forces, and the cruelty of the human heart. He was here. He didn’t need anyone to tell him what it was. He came down to experience it for himself, the Father, and the Holy Spirit. Despite this, He continued to do good and heal all who were oppressed by the devil, by the Father’s Holy Spirit and power. And He was with Him. What a sacrifice! What a privilege to know Him!
By that, He became an Advocate for humanity in the holiest of all.

As Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, He makes it possible for us to look into the heavens and behold Him in the Father. Oh what a work of grace! What an awesome wonder!
We can’t but thank you, Father, for sending Jesus to us. Even as He is with You, He has made it possible for us to fellowship with You, know You, and address You as Father!
Your sacrifice has made us whole. Your sacrifice has reconciled us to the Father. We behold you as the first begotten from the dead. The first flesh and blood that became glorified for us!
Father, we thank you! Thank you for all You did for us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We are Yours again. No one can snatch us from Your mighty hands. Thank you!
So, friends, if you’re not sure about the above reality, I can help. Unless a man or woman confesses and believes in his or her heart that Jesus came in the flesh, walked the earth, died for humanity’s sin, rose on the third day, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, he or she cannot be called a child of God, see the kingdom of God, or be saved from eternal damnation. If you have a deep sense that you need to come to God and be called His child, that is a good decision. Just a simple prayer. Say it aloud and hear it within yourself as follows:
Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins. I know my good works cannot save me. But You came to the earth, lived and died and resurrected after paying for the sins of mankind. You paid for the wages of my sins with your blood so that I can be united to my Maker. I believe in my heart that you did all this for me also. I accept you from today as my Lord and Savior. Come and dwell in my heart and make me a new person from today till I meet with You. Thank you Father for accepting me as Your child from today. I ask all these in Jesus name. Amen!
