New Life
The old sinful nature of you died. Dead to the sting of death which is sin! Dead to vices of this world. Dead to the lust of the flesh; the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Dead to your own will that is not aligned with God’s.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV).

You are a new creation. Walk in the new life that Jesus has given you. It is supernatural! Don’t turn to the left. The old sinful habits have no power over you anymore, except you yield to them. Please don’t! They have no power over you anymore. The old me is gone. Likewise, the old you should be gone. The Word of God says in Romans 6:12 – 14 (AMPC):
“12 Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions.
13 Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness.
14 For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God’s favor and mercy].”
You have power over sin! When that sinful thoughts start brewing in your mind, you scream out loud “I reject that thoughts in the name of Jesus! I shall not yield to sin in Jesus name!”
That, I tell you, is one of the approaches to overcome wicked thoughts. If your mind is not thinking about it, you can’t act it out in real life. Take hold of your thoughts with God’s Word. In Christ Jesus, follow the new path. Forsake the gathering, the habits and things that make you vulnerable to the sinful lifestyle.
Remember that the Holy Spirit of God is now within you. That makes you and I supernatural. Glory be to God! Romans 8:11 (NKJV) says:
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
The Lord Jesus said in John 14:17 (NKJV) that:
“…the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
The Spirit of God dwells in you to guide you into all truth. Don’t say Amen to that. It’s not a prayer! It is what Jesus said in John 16: 13 to 14 (NKJV):
“13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”
Now, let me tell you something. No matter how long you have been in Christ. Don’t you be street-smart about it! The Holy Spirit is there to always guide us into all truth. He is to lead you and I.
Romans 8:14 (NIV) echoes it:“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”
Furthermore, the Holy Spirit brings God’s Word to life within us because the new “You” is born of the Word of God which is incorruptible.
Friends, I tell you by the authority of the Word of God in 1 Peter 1:23 that:
“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, BUT of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” NIV version
The God’s words that you have been reading from the beginning of this book till now are living and enduring. The Lord Jesus said in John 6:63 that His words are spirit and they are life. The written and spoken Word of God gives life. The life in God’s words enter into us to give us life. The words mold and change our minds from corrupt ways to the God’s ways. The Word of God corrects and straightens us from the inside out, causing us to give up all sinful works.
It keeps our new nature alive unto God. Don’t you resurrect that old nature. Don’t you dare go after a sinful lifestyle! Don’t go about living in sin as before. Hear this:
“Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,”Romans 6:8.

Did you read that? I died with the Lord Jesus! So did you. Glory! And I’m alive in Him! So are you! I’m over death. And you are too. Well, you can scoff at it like, “Who the hell does he think he is?”
Let me demystify your thinking with the verse below:
“…knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.”Romans 6:9-10 (NKJV).
Did you read that? If you didn’t see it, please go back and read it again. Let it sink. Christ dies no more. I no longer die spiritually because I died with Him and am now alive in Him. That includes you if you are genuinely born-again.
That’s my M.O! That should be yours too. Oh, by the way, I mean Modus Operandi.
I’m alive unto God! I’m alive to righteousness. Alive to virtue! Alive to the fruit of the spirit. So are you. His life is in me and in you. His divine nature is in me! And in you also. Did you get that? Okay, I will give you a scripture for that. Turn to 2 Peter 1: 2 – 4 in Amplified Bible Classic Edition (AMPC):
“2 May grace (God’s favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that[are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).
4 By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.”
Glory be to God! Did you read that? You have the divine nature of God in you! That is why you are now a new creation. When scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new,” that new creation refers to the divine nature of God (2 Peter 1:4) that got transferred into you when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. It is spiritual. It is supernatural. You just simply received the divine nature of God in you. That nature makes you righteous before God. You are now a child of God! You have His nature inside you!
ALIVE UNTO GOD
You are now dead to sin and awake unto righteousness. Alive unto God! Alive to righteousness. Alive to virtue! Alive to the fruit of the spirit.
You can now scream, The Godhead dwells in me! Oh Lord, bring it all over me! Fill me everyday with Your fullness! Fill me till eternity. To be lost in You, my Maker, my Master, my Saviour! Oh, eternity! The fullness of God. The limitless, immeasurable, and surpassing presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The fullness of God dwells in you and I. Oh, I desire His fullness. Nothing but the fullness. Get me drunk with Your Holy Spirit till I thirst no more, floating under Your glory; under the power of the ages to come; the awesome brightness of Your glory. Your majesty! Your pleasure! Let it prosper in my hands to the glory of Your Name. Your Majesty on high. My Father!!! I want nothing but Your fullness!
That should be your hunger daily towards Him. You must want it. Oh! Don’t settle for less. There’s more in Him. The fullness of God manifests the manifold nature of the Eternal Being, the Father of our Lord Jesus!
I’m already talking about what to expect in Him. But,I don’t want to jump ahead of you. As a new creation in God, we must continue in good works. We all are new creation, irrespective of how long we have been in Christ Jesus. You never outgrow the new creation status. There is nothing like an older new creation. Stop it! Don’t you think you have outgrown that new creation status, except you have denied Christ.
As a new creation, there are practices that are good to follow. I will share them in the next chapter.
