The Closer You Get

The closer you get to God’s embrace,
The more you crave His reflected grace.
Vulnerability blooms, a tender shoot,
As flesh cries out, “We’ll silence your pursuit!”

Senses whisper doubts, a cruel attack,
“You’re foolish!” they sneer, each word a crack.
Some try to exploit, their motives plain,
But Jesus spoke, “Give them your cloak and coat.”

Don’t flinch at rejection, a test of your core,
Is your salvation real? Look deep and explore.
Love your enemies, as Christ’s teachings say,
Pray for those who take advantage, day by day.

Let them use their senses, their cunning plan,
The Holy Spirit will guide you, a faithful Guide.
Lean on Him, for those led by His Spirit,
They become the children of God, bathed in pure white.

Maturity beckons, a path to embrace,
Beyond mere bread and clothes, a sacred space.
Where eagle’s eyes cannot reach, nor mortal comprehend,
A treasure untold, that has no end.

The Spirit whispers, “Come higher, ascend!”
Will you answer His call, where doubts will bend?
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and praise,
Offer your worship, raise your voice in a daze.

To Mount Zion, where the firstborn reside,
Registered in heaven, where angels jeers in worship.
To God the Judge, and Jesus the Mediator,
Eat of the manna, the truth in which you abide.

Let your soul find pleasure in His every word,
The Greater One within you, your shield and sword.
He sees all things, your Shepherd and Friend,
No need to fear, His love will never end.

Though senses deceive and whispers may sting,
Cry out, “There is a lifting up, I will take wing!”
The Greater One within you, a constant refrain,
Through Christ who loves you, you have overcome.

In Christ Jesus, a new creation you are,
Say it with conviction, reach for the far.
Not by years, but in Christ forever true,
Divine and eternal, through and through.

Born of God, His Spirit your Guide,
Above and not below, soaring on His course.
“How shall these come to pass?” you may wonder still,
But know this: the Lord’s word will never fail.

Change or falter, His promises stand,
Done and dusted, by His mighty hand.
Walk with Him in faith, let doubt be undone,
His words will manifest, one by one.

In your life on earth, His glory displayed,
All praise and honor to Him, be it said. Amen!
