As the day gracefully draws to a close, the veil of night gently descends, ushering in a new chapter of our lives. An invitation extends to us, beckoning us to embrace a divine partnership that promises to illuminate our life’s journey in ways beyond our wildest imagination. This is one of those times in life when we must ask ourselves, “Why am I here?” What is the meaning of life? If we only care about food, shelter, clothing, and wealth, our existence has no true purpose. We could have just as easily remained in heaven, where there is no sorrow, pain, tears, hunger, or homelessness. We had no choice but to be here, and now we are.

The living must not ignore the important question of why they are here. Jesus Christ, who came in the flesh like us and walked the earth without sin, demonstrated the way to live.

He cried out loud in John 4:34, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.”

He perfectly fulfilled the will of God in partnership with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

He said in John 5:19, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. I speak of the Lord Jesus.

Oh, the precious Lord Jesus said it all. There is a divine partnership here for us to fulfill the will of God in our generation. It is partnership with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus was in partnership with the Father while on earth. He was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power by the Father to do the will of God (Acts 10:38). That was divine partnership.

It is my sincere desire that Your Holy Spirit illuminates our purpose for being on earth as well as the actions of the Father. That we may do them also.

But I tell you, His words expressly tell us what to do. To live by His words. To be led by His Spirit in every aspect of our lives.

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” Romans 8:14.

Yes, to be led by His Spirit. We are not here to indulge our fleshly desires, merely passing through time before entering the invisible realm at the end of our lives. Nor are we here to simply live life as if there is no tomorrow.

I ask: What brought you here? What are you doing here on Earth? To marry or not to marry? To own or not to own? To be famous or unpopular? Why are you here? “I don’t know?” Is that your response? You can look up to the Great One who walked the earth and succeeded in all ways.

The Great Role Model

The Great Master, the Lord Jesus, said in John 5:30, I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.”

He also said in Luke 4:18-19:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

He understood why He had come. He understood His mission on Earth. He may have learned carpentry from His earthly foster father, Joseph, but He never forgot why He came. In the midst of everything humans do on Earth, He knew His divine path in life. He had to help His earthly mother Mary with chores, but He never wavered from His heavenly Father’s vision. He stayed true to His vision. He “went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38.

He walked the divine path ordained for Him. He was ever in tune with the heavenly command center. No wonder He exclaimed, “I can of Myself do nothing!” He said in the second part of John 5:30, “I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.”

He was selfless. He was love. What a great Model! What an Example of divine partnership with God. Though He was God, He partnered with His Father to fulfill the will of God for us. He didn’t need to die because He was not a sinner. He never sinned. He let go of His divinity for a moment to fulfill the will of the Father. What an honor to be used of God for eternal purpose!

The earth begs us to adapt and become something else. The elements (the lust, corruption, pride of life etc) lure us to change. The evil ones tempt us to steal, kill, and destroy us. But the Word of God is eternally settled, seated at the right Hand of the Father. We are now His earthly representatives. Will we, like Jesus, walk in divine partnership with the Father?

Or will we go our own way, seeking our own things? Think about this. After life, we shall appear before the judgment seat of Christ to give account of what we have done as believers of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:10.

Will you, like Jesus, walk in divine partnership with the Father?

Divine Partnership

Are you in partnership with Him? Are you winning souls for His kingdom? Are you assisting those in need? Do you pay visits to the sick, orphans, and widows? Are you making the most of what you have to help those around you? Are you showing compassion to a dying world? Are you spreading the good news to anyone who will listen? What about those dreams and aspirations that you know you received from Him? When are you going to start them? While we wait for the right timing, we can do those tasks that do not require timing, such as those listed above. Don’t leave it too long.

The time is far spent. The night is here. The Lord comes soon. Give yourself to Him. This life is not yours. It belongs to Him.

“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Romans 2:4

The riches of the goodness of the Lord brings us to Him. And it does not stop there. The goodness and mercy of the Lord continue to follow us all the days of our lives (Psalm 23:6).

Goodness

Oh let your path drop goodness, blessing humanity,
Giving grace to the humble, food to the hungry,
Shelter to the homeless, healing to the sick,
Comfort to the brokenhearted, freedom to the prisoners,
Comfort to the fatherless and support to the widows.

Let your heart yearn with the compassion of the Lord,
To bring joy to the face of humanity.

Goodness, goodness, let us sow,
In every corner where we go.
Let our footsteps leave a trace,
Of love and mercy, grace and grace.

Goodness, goodness, let us share,
With all who cross our path with care.
Let our hearts be full of light,
To banish darkness, day and night.

Oh let your path drop goodness, blessing humanity,
A beacon of hope in a world of adversity.
Let your love shine bright, a guiding star,
Leading us all to where we are.

Goodness, goodness, let us sow,
In every corner where we go.
Let our footsteps leave a trace,
Of love and mercy, grace and grace.

Goodness, goodness, let us share,
With all who cross our path with care.
Let our hearts be full of light,
To banish darkness, day and night.

And the goodness and mercy of the Lord continue to follow us all the days of our lives (Psalm 23:6). Amen!
