Yes! You read that right—not in my power. I will share the experience of the dead who were raised toward the end of this piece and also explain it to you. Don’t miss listening to the song at the end of the post.Okay—first, let me establish some scriptural background.

In Philippians 3:10, Apostle Paul cried out:

“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.”

That was his heart cry to God the Father. To know Him and the power of His resurrection. In another epistle in Ephesians 1:17 to 20, he wrote by the Holy Ghost,

The power of His resurrection. The exceeding greatness of His power. His mighty power.

Amplified Classic translation says, “And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power IN and FOR US who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places]…”

That immeasurable, unlimited and surpassing great power of God is in us and for us who believe. That power can raise the dead in the same way it raised the Lord Jesus from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of the Father right now. Yes, that power can raise the dead.

Yes, “I raised the dead.” The Christ in me raised the dead—not me, but the Christ in me. I believe, according to the Scriptures above, that the greatest working of God’s power was when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand. You and I have that power in us and for us.

My journey to understanding this came through some experiences which you might have had but never paid attention to. Maybe you did.

The story — the dead raised to life

There was a 24-year-old young man who came for a job interview as a security guard. He could barely understand English, so we had to communicate in pidgin English, which I managed to rattle out. After I had decided to take him on, I extended the conversation to understand his standing with God. I believe it is the Lord who causes me both to will and to do of His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).

I asked, “Do you know Jesus?”
He paused for a while and sincerely replied, “I no know. I no know how to say.”

I was shocked—and immediately stirred within me to tell him about the Lord.

Oh, what a joy it was to tell him who Jesus is! What joy flowed through my heart! I prayed silently, “Lord Jesus, come and reveal Yourself to him now.”

I took time to explain who Jesus is and what He came to do for mankind. When I was done and asked if he wanted to accept Jesus into his life, he replied, “Yes.”

In that moment, the one who knew no Jesus not only accepted Him—he was also filled with the Holy Ghost and began speaking in diverse tongues. I did not say he was babbling in tongues; he was speaking in a distinct tongue. He was also healed instantly.

The Lord Jesus stepped into his heart to become his Lord and Savior—and his Healer. The Father was glorified. The Holy Spirit filled him. What a wondrous Lord! Glory be to Him in the highest! A life that once knew no Christ received life, and his face was lit up.

Here is what it is.

The young man was spiritually dead. He did not know who Jesus was. A few minutes later, his spirit was revived. He was raised from spiritual death, which is the worst death known to mankind since Adam sinned. He came alive unto God. Jesus became his Lord and Savior, and he was filled with the Holy Spirit.

What made all that possible? The power of His resurrection—the exceeding greatness of God’s power, His mighty power.

The same power that raised Christ from both physical and spiritual death raised that young boy from his spiritual death.

Did you read that? I’m screaming it into you! He was spiritually dead. God’s power raised that boy from death. The same exceeding great power that seated Christ in the heavenlies at the right hand of God the Father also seated that boy with Christ from the very moment he accepted Christ into his heart!

It may not look spectacular to ordinary eyes, but it is supernatural! It may seem like no big deal to you, but it was to the Father. It was to Jesus. It was to the Holy Spirit. Things were happening in the spirit realm when that boy’s spirit was being revived by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. The mighty power of God raised him. It was supernatural. Angels were rejoicing in heaven at the moment the boy came alive unto God.

O Lord, open our eyes to see You more and more—to see the mighty working of Your great power in us and toward us who believe!

You also can raise the dead. Yes, you can allow the Lord Jesus to work through you to raise the dead—the spiritually dead. Of what joy is it to God for a spiritually dead person to be physically alive? What a tragedy it is to be without God! What an agony!

The greatest working of God’s power is in us. When I saw this power in operation among hopeless people—how the Lord revived their spirits and filled them with His Spirit—I marveled. I saw it. I saw it. I saw that power in operation. It wasn’t spectacular, but it was supernatural. It was—and is—real.

He changes the dejected, the sorrowful, the barren, the outcast, and the afflicted into joyful and Spirit-filled believers in Christ. He heals the sick. He illuminates the minds of men and women to seek God. He turns us onto His path. He sets the solitary in families. He gives hope and a future to everyone who seeks Him. He is rich in mercy and goodness. He never leaves nor forsakes us. He is with us at all times.

You, too, have the power in you! You can do it! Go out there—step out in faith—and see the Lord Jesus raise the dead in front of you! I have seen it. It works!

Get off the jolly ride and let the Lord use you to do great and supernatural things. If He chooses to do the spectacular, fine—but the supernatural is awesome. Blessed are you if you can see the supernatural happen.
